In short, Roger says work on his opera "Ca Ira" is finished and submitted to Sony for distribution. He also discusses the theme will be "about revolution in general and the potential for human beings to evolve." He claims the production is not for his own live performance, but suggests an opera company may eventually feature it. The opera is 100 minutes in length, features three acts, and will be available in French and English. Additionally, Roger gives an update on his new rock album in the works. He states it is halfway complete and will be "very political in nature." We are to look for its release in 2006. Refreshing news, it has been too long since "Amused to Death." According to Brain Damage, typically a very reputable source, Roger Waters has been confirmed to appear on NBC's Tsunami Aid show.
Putting tour rumors to rest

Recently, something Nick Mason mentioned has been blown quite out of proportion, with rumors flying that Roger will be reuniting with the band for a tour. Unfortunately, an interview with Scottish TV has put the rumors to rest. When asked about the prospects of the band reuniting, Nick said:
"Well, I'd have to say it's very unlikely and I think possibly on one occasion I said something like this and it was misunderstood and everyone announced that the band was reforming in its original guise which definitely is not on the cards. What I said was I though the only thing that might draw us all together it would not be for a big tour or big money, it would be for the equivalent of a new Live Aid, something that was worthwhile that we all felt more important than everyone worrying about their ego, their career prospects or whatever. And it just would feel worthwhile enough to do something."
While the editors here would be as happy as any other Floyd fans to see a reunion and tour, it simply does not appear to be a likelihood.

The new songs promised by Roger Waters are now available in a multitude of formats, with lyrics.
The press release at the site indicates that these songs will also be released (presumably at higher quality) on most of the legitimate online music stores.
The Final Cut - Remaster and Reissue

According to Brain Damage, The Final Cut is being remastered and repackaged in new artwork to commemorate the album's 20th anniversary. Scheduled release dates are April 20th in the U.S. and March 19th in Europe. A date for the U.K. is to be announced soon. As a bonus, the track When the Tigers Broke Free is rumoured to be included on the new release.
Michael Kamen dead at 55

Michael Kamen, long time friend and collaborator to Pink Floyd, has passed away at age 55. Mr. Kamen was responsible for the many incredible symphony orchestrations in The Wall and The Final Cut.
Our sincerest condolences go out to his surviving children and family.

Pink Floyd's long-time manager, Steve O'Rourke, has passed away at age 63.

It appears that previous reports about the band reuniting to honor is memory at his funeral were a hoax. We apologize for the error.

REG is citing undisclosed sources inside the Waters camp who state that his current studio project is tentatively set for release in Spring 2004. He may support the long-awaited album with a European/North American tour. Any official news will be posted immediately.
