Richard Wright to play Gilmour tour

Posted by madhack on Jan 27, 2006

David Gilmour's official site is now carrying the confirmed lineup for the upcoming tour. Familiar faces include Guy Pratt and Jon Carin, but what's most notable is the fact that Richard Wright is listed as a member of the touring band.

Richard, of course, joined David on stage for parts of his acoustic shows that became part of the In Concert DVD, but for those of us who couldn't be at that show, at the Roger Waters shows where Nick Mason sat in, or at Live 8, this should be a nice partial reunion.

Gilmour announces tour dates for North America

Posted by madhack on Dec 19, 2005

Billboard is carrying the news that David Gilmour has announced his North American tour. It appears to be a limited tour, with performances in New York, Toronto, Chicago, Oakland (San Francisco), and Los Angeles throughout April. Pre-sale begins tomorrow on David Gilmour's website, with general availability the weekend of January.

The article also notes that Gilmour intends to mix new solo songs with Pink Floyd tunes on this tour. It's also interesting to note that all of the announced venues are smaller theaters rather than large arenas; tickets are likely to go very fast.
